PETITE OPERA FESTIVAL: SOUTH AFRICAN ENVOYS OF OPERA

Celebrate the rich legacy of South African opera at the Petit Opera Festival in the breathtaking Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden. The weekend honours the South African Envoys of Opera with the launch of the book of the same name and a presentation by acclaimed soprano Margaretha Deysel Stemmet, who performed numerous operatic roles in Austria and South Africa. Her talk includes a slideshow, sound clips and stories from her book and life in opera. Enjoy one of Margaretha’s favourite dishes, Stuffed Shoulder of Lamb, as part of a three-course meal. The festival concludes with an enchanting Opera and Operetta concert on Sunday featuring Jo-Nette Le Kay, Blaine Josephs and Winand Grundlin
