Walk For Them is Transnet Port Terminals’ annual charity fun run held in support of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The initiative brings communities together to raise awareness of gender-based violence and raise funds for non-profit organisations that support women and children affected by GBV.
The 2026 edition is held under the theme “Two Cities. One Shared Commitment.”, bringing the Walk For Them movement to Durban and Gqeberha. The theme reflects a shared commitment across both cities to stand against gender-based violence, support organisations working with affected women and children, and mobilise communities around the call for a safer tomorrow.
Participants can take part in either the 4 km walk or 8 km run. The Durban event takes place at Sunkist Lawns, Durban Promenade, on 28 November 2026, starting at 06h00. The Gqeberha event takes place at Hobie Beach, Gqeberha, on 12 December 2026, starting at 07h00.
Two cities. One shared commitment. Every step contributes to raising awareness and supporting those working to make our communities safer.
