AIDT Celebrates 60 Years of Dance Excellence at the Roodepoort Theatre
The Association of International Dance Teachers (AIDT) will mark its 60th anniversary with a special double-bill showcase at the Roodepoort Theatre.
Founded in 1966 by Nina Bodenham, Thelma Cripps, Thelma Isaacs, Rita Michaelson and Anna Nell, AIDT began with no start-up funds, with the founders paying their own way and examining on a voluntary basis for many years. From those humble beginnings, the Association grew into an internationally respected body, with branches in Australia, Israel, Cyprus, the United Kingdom and Canada.
Over the past six decades, AIDT has continually evolved and updated its Modern, Tap and Hip Hop syllabi, all whilst remaining true to its enduring mission statement: "Uplifting the Standard of Dance and Training."
